Annual Tree Lighting

Sunday, December 5, 2021

The Denver community is invited to officially begin the holiday season as the Borough of Denver sponsors the 2021 Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony on Sunday, December 5, 2021, starting at 4:15 p.m. at the Municipal Building.

The 2021 Tree Lighting Ceremony will have something for everyone including hot dogs, fruit, empanadas, Holiday Treat Bags, crafts, carols, and of course, Santa Claus! The Borough will set up separate stations on Main Street, between the Municipal Building and the Municipal Garage, where participants can choose from hot dogs and sauerkraut, assorted fruits, empanadas, hot cocoa, and pick up a Holiday Treat Bag, while supplies last.

Mount Zion Baptist Church will have a children’s craft to complete while all participants enjoy the seasonal sounds of Cocalico High School’s Tri-M Music Honor Society.

Representatives from the Borough will officially kick off the holiday season with a few words followed by Santa Claus making a magical appearance to turn on the lights on the tree. After the tree is lit, the program will conclude. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, unfortunately there will not be an opportunity to take pictures with Santa Claus in 2021.

In the essence of the true meaning of the season, attendees are asked to donate a non-perishable can or boxed food item which will be donated to Peter’s Porch Food Bank and redistributed to people in our community this holiday season.  Volunteers from Peter’s Porch will have multiple collection bins located around the Municipal Building to collect the non-perishable food donations.

Thank you to the following for your donations and support of our Denver community: Weaver Markets, Good’s Potato Chips, Castaneda’s, Cocalico School District, Courtyard Café, Denver Meat Company, Fruittastic, Good’s Potato Chips, Mount Zion Baptist Church, Pepperidge Farms, Redner’s Warehouse Markets, and Weavers Markets.

Come out and enjoy the festivities with your family, friends, and neighbors as we begin a season of peace and joy in the Borough.
