All municipal and county real estate taxes levied in the Borough are collected by the Lancaster County Treasurer's Office. In 2019, the Borough of Denver levies a real estate tax millage of 2.53 Mills on each dollar of assessed valuation in the Borough.
Earned Income Tax
The Borough of Denver levies an earned income tax for general revenue purposes at the rate of 0.5% on earned income and net profits of individual residents of the taxing authority. The Borough of Denver also imposes a tax for general revenue purposes at the rate of 1% on earned income and net profits derived by an individual who is not a resident of the taxing authority from any work, business, profession, or activity of any kind engaged in within the boundaries of the taxing authority. Local Services Tax
The Borough of Denver levies and imposes on each occupation engaged by individuals within the corporate limits of the Borough a Local Services Tax in the amount of $52 per annum from all taxpayers whose total income and net profits from all sources within the Borough is greater than $12,000. The Borough of Denver is required to use a least 25% of the funds derived from the Local Services tax for “emergency services.” Emergency services include medical services, police, and/or fire services.
