The Denver Borough Planning Commission has been given the charge by Borough Council to work with key stakeholders in the Borough and the larger Cocalico region, the public, and the Lancaster County Planning Commission (LCPC) to develop an Official Map for Denver Borough.
An Official Map is a map and ordinance that shows existing public lands and designations for future public lands and facilities in a municipality. Facilities are designated to address issues such as bicycle and pedestrian paths, existing and proposed parks and open spaces, intersection improvements, road extensions, stormwater facilities, and flood improvement areas.
The Official Map will be used to establish the long-term planning efforts of the Borough to provide for additional public facilities and safety improvements and thus it is critical to have participation and input from key stakeholders and residents in the community in the development of this financing and planning document.
The next Official Map Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, August 25, 2020, with a discussion and interactive meeting concerning Public Works and Services in the Borough. The meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. and will be held at the Denver Borough Municipal Building, 501 Main Street, Denver. Please note, anyone attending the meeting on August 25th will be required to wear a mask when entering and inside the building.
Listed below is an overview of the proposed Official Map topics. The dates, times, and locations of each of these meetings will be posted on the Borough’s website and Facebook Pages. All meetings will be open to the public and will include the use of maps, plans, and interactive activities to help our community depict potential future public facilities and to establish a process for the Borough to facilitate construction of these facilities.
