Denver Borough Armed Forces Banner Program

Denver Borough will be joining communities nationwide in using banners to thank and honor veterans of the military.  The Denver Borough Armed Forces Banner Program pays tribute to the men and women who live or who have lived in the Denver Borough who have served in the Armed Forces.

The Banner program will include the installation of 50 banners on wood poles located on North 6th Street, Main Street, South 4th Street, and Lancaster Avenue.  The pole locations will match the current locations of the “Welcome to Denver” banners.  Each of these banners will measure 24-inches by 48-inches and will include a picture of the service member, his/her name, branch, and era of service.

The Borough also will install banners on the 18 decorative poles located in the 200 and 300 blocks of Main Street as well as on the 26 decorative poles located in the Denver Memorial Park.  Since these poles are smaller than the wooden poles in the Borough, these banners will measure 18-inches by 36-inches and also will include a picture of the service member, his/her name, branch, and era of service.

The total number of banners to be installed during this first phase of the project is 94.  The cost for each banner is $110.00 and each banner will hang in the Borough for two (2) years.  At the conclusion of that period, the banner will be removed and the person or organization who purchased the banner will be given the banner.
